Heartland Hunts LLC provides fully guided wild turkey hunts in the heart of the Flint and Smoky Hills of North East Kansas. We offer the chance to pursue not one, but two species of wild turkey. With farms located strategically across unit 3 throughout 7 counties you will have the chance to harvest both Rio Grande and Eastern wild turkey as well as Rio Grande/Eastern hybrids. I strive to build the ultimate spring turkey hunting experience for my clients here in Kansas.
Heartland Hunts LLC had a 100% Harvest rate in 2021 an a 90% Harvest rate in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
There are 3 private lodging options available for our clients. I am always on the search for new properties and farms to both grow my business and ensure great hunting for our clients year after year. Multiple new farms are available to us this upcoming season and I believe 2025 will be a great year.

I believe in hard work and honesty. I am going to tell you how it is and I am going to work as hard as I possibly can to put you on your Kansas Tom. You may not like the answers that come out of my mouth but they are going to be honest and straightforward and I am going to do the job that you hired me for to the best of my abilities. That said, remember that I sell reality and not a guarantee. We are hunting wild birds in a state with very unpredictable weather patterns during the Spring. Rain, snow, hail, tornado's, 40 mph winds, cold/hot, you never know what mother nature will throw at us but it is always something. But, I do guarantee that we will have a great time and that I will bust my ass for you day in and out. That being said, I am confident in my abilities to provide you with both a professional and action packed hunt for your Kansas Tom.
I am a one man operation who is in the field guiding each day with my client(s) and every day without a client I am on the road scouting, talking to my farmers/landowners, working on the lodge & checking trail cameras and properties daily. I cover a wide range of hunting properties in two different zones to ensure we are always hunting fresh and unpressured birds, as this will maximize your chances of being successful and will allow you to experience hunting in all of the unique different habitats that Kansas has to offer. My properties range from hunting right at the lodge itself, up to an hour and 20 minutes from the lodge.

As the sole owner and guide of Heartland Hunts, I, Alec Fehr, am highly motivated to offer you a world-class wild turkey hunt that is nothing short of 3 days of professional, fun, & action packed hunting. I pride myself in operating a personable and respectable guide service. When you hunt with me you have access to countless properties of prime wild turkey habitat spanning over 7 different counties. From the rolling Flint Hills and big timber winding river bottoms along the Kansas River to rich agricultural creek bottoms and cedar forests in the Smoky Hills as well as two windy and very diverse smaller and unique Rivers. I have just about every habitat available for you that Wild Turkeys thrive in here in Kansas.
My farms are hand selected throughout years of great relationships with our landowners and farmers. I hope to share my passion with you this spring and beyond in order to create relationships that will last long after your hunt. Bring your favorite shotgun and leave the rest up to me.. blinds, decoys, lodging, transportation and all other necessary equipment is included in your hunt to ensure that you have the experience of a lifetime hunting big Kansas longbeards right here in the Heartland!
